My 5 hp briggs and stratton is on my go kart. It has been sitting for about 4 years and i have been trying to start for a while and it finally started. It wont idle i have to keep it reved. I tried to drive it a couple times but as soon as it’s stressed it dies. Ive adjusted the carborateur and it didn’t help much and the screw keeps turning itself in. After a while of starting it and adjusting the carb, it started running at full speed without me pressing anything and it was frequently backfiring and shooting flames out of the exhaust pipe. Does anyone have any idea what the problem is and how i can fix it? thanks
