depends on the gears. I remember my brother going at least 45 MPH with an untuned 9hp with old gas. But with two 9hps running he could do over 60 MPH all day long.

I was studying Newton's Momentum Conservation and Equilibrium works, and saw that in two carts on wheels, you can connect the carts with proportionately balanced rope and spring, and the carts will move in unison, along a straight line. There are illustrations and everything on this proven law of Physics.
I have worked on constructing buildings, and amcurious as to why this technology is not included in reinforcing the building frames? The walls and flor/roof cross-framing all represent the compression spring in Newton's Carts, but there is no tension ropes counter balancing the building frame assemblages!!
Anyone know why this basic element of proven physics is missing in buildings and structures?
You are not looking close enough or at enough structures. There are numerous examples of tension cables in buildings and in the concrete foundations. Check the link below or do a search on "cable tension buildings"

We're trying to do this as cost efficient as possible.
They're called sandrails, a go kart with a 4 cyl will be just as fun and rev higher. Buy a fwd front clip and toss the front suspension of something else in front of it. Lotsa custom fab with stock steel but mid engine go kart yay.

Two 500cc 2 stroke dirtbike motors in a cart? R U insane? It will never balance motorwise, plus the front wheels will never touch the ground.

how do i make a ridding lawnmower in to a go cart i have a good engine wheels and all i need is a frame does anyone now where a cheap frame is or like how to use a lawnmower frame if you can do that can you!?!?!?! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!
Is it a horizontal shaft engine? I if so remove the transmission and install a clutch and run a chain to the axle gear. If it's a vertical shaft engine; don't know. As far as a frame; check craig's list. New ones can't be sold in America because of a stupid law that came into effect a couple months ago.

I want to start messing around with engines and things like that, im really interested. How can i go about building a homemade go kart with a lawnmower engine? Any tutorials etc.?
I can understand wanting to make a go kart out of a riding lawnmower. They generally have larger horsepower engines. The one problem is that the drive shaft is vertical and you ideally want a small engine that is Horizontal shaft. That way the centrifugal cluth will marry up and you can align it with the chain and drive sprocket. I recently built a go-kart with a 10 horsepower Yamaha generator motor. With a little work we have been able to achieve about 65mph top speed out of the go kart in about 4.5 seconds
