My coworkers and I broke up into 8 teams and raced 120 laps (60 each). My team came in 6th, but we had a blast none the less! At least WE didn’t get any black flags called against us and WE didn’t cheat! (Ahem, teams 4 and 6 =] )

my love for racing started when i was a baby in the back car seat and i would cry everytime my parents stopped the car at a red light or something. since then i have loved going places to go kart (not professionally) and i taught myself to drive manual transmission when i was just 12 years old. now i love just taking my volvo 850 out into the good ol’ pine barrens and racing it around the woods on small trails at a good 60-80 mph which is good considering there is no road. i have driven faster on roads and really find no end to the enjoyment of high speed/high danger situations. Recently i was invited to an underground racing organization.
My question is, is there a way for me to get into professional racing that is legal? I mean I kinda want to do the underground stuff, but I would prefer getting into some serious pro racing. does anyone have any good ideas on how to get in?
You first have to get a racing license, which means racing school. I can recommend Skip Barber as I’ve been through it. From there, racing means money, so you’ll need a good amount of money (read: hundreds of thousands of dollars) to get enough experience to consider racing in a professional series. That’s why sponsorship is so important in racing. Either that or marry Paris Hilton. Either way, best of luck.
Need an engine for my go kart : ) Does any one know if there are any shops in Nanjing that sell engines for go karts or any type of engine that could be used for go karts? I have heard that motorcycle engines can also be used on go karts, if this is true, where could i buy one and how much would one be?
Typical go-karts use small two-stroke engines, from 5 to 8 hp maximum, usually Briggs & Straton types similar to those on snowblowers and lawnmowers! If you are talking about a larger go-kart, you will have to use a larger displacement engine such as a motorcycle engine ranging from 250 to 800 cc depending on what you want.I don’t know about Nanjing, but I’m sure any small bike shop can get you any type of small engine which will fit on your go-kart chassis with a few tweaks to adapt the tabs to the engine mounts.

i was asking for some suggestions for a household engine to mount in my go kart frame that will be powerful and have some speed..i was thinking maybe a snowblower engine..but i dont know if that will have enough torque…. help me out. 
i need to put a good engine into my gokart….but it needs to be able to mount easily and vertical chain or belt driven….any sugestions PLEASE?

If it’s your go-cart, you can "sipe" the tires. That means you have little cuts put all along your tread on your tire. It will increse your traction and if your the only one doing it, you’ll have a serious advantage over the others.

If you’re talking about a riding lawnmower…take the blades off and the protective sheild. Viola’! you have a go cart.
