I have.. ?

an old go kart chassis, lots of duck tape, a toolbox, some snooker cues, loads of wood, a lawnmower and a patio heater.

What can i make?

If you can get hold of a helmic regulator, you can make a time machine.

I would like to build a 4 stroke go kart from scratch for the lowest cost possible. Where can I get the…..?

… lowest cost parts (from in County Durham, UK or the internet) and instructions on building the go kart?

I suggest you try the local council ‘recycle’ (garbage) tip ..

Hint – an engine from an old petrol lawnmower should be just what you need .. and if you can find a ‘ride on’ type you are 90% of the way there ..

PS In most parts of the UK, your ‘go kart’ will need an MOT and you need a Driving License before you can even think of using it in public .. and you would NEVER get Insurance .. so "don’t try this EXCEPT at home" …

PPS Hint given on condition that no liability attaches icon smile I would like to build a 4 stroke go kart from scratch for the lowest cost possible. Where can I get the.....?

How can i get into go – kart racing, and who would i call?

I love cars, and racing. Always have since i was little and playing with toy cars.

I was at Kawartha Downs Speedway the other night, and i realized that i want to race go – karts! So i was just wondering where the heck to go, or who the heck to call.

Help me!!!

I assume they don’t actually race karts at the track you went to.

below are a couple message boards, try posting your location and see if you get any responses from racers in you’re area. Try to figure out where the tracks are, what classes are run, etc. Once you’ve done some research, go out to the track, watch the races and talk to people. Try volunteering to flag or help someone.with their kart or something.

Who makes the fastest shifter kart engines?

I haven’t seen a lot of shifter karts, so I don’t know that much about them. But I’ve seen them with motorcycle engines. Used sportbike engines should be common and fairly cheap since sportbikes crash a lot. You could get a Hayabusa engine, that is, what, 160 hp? That ought to be enough, don’t you think? 8^)

Do you know of any motorized go kart plans? Websites? Ideas?

I have got a Briggs and Stratton motor, the tyres, the back axle and a steering wheel. All i have to do is put it together! I really need to know how to fit the axle on to the frame and a steering mechanism.
Thanks

My dad built me one some 48 years ago, I believe he got his plans out of the Popular Mechanic’s magazine, or popular science.
I suggest a trip to your local library and look in the magazine stacks, or just ast the librarian they will show you where to start.
PS, It ran like a screaming azz ape with it’s tail on fire. it was a lot of fun till my horse sat on it.
