Why not learn how to plan a project like this and start with a Mechanical Drawing Class (Drafting). Take your time to learn how to plan a job from the start and make it educational for yourself.

pacer go kart gpz305 engine m
I have worked on this project for approx 5 months, the kart came to me in a right mess. The frame is a Pacer P900 which originally had a 5.5 Honda engine and cost £3.500 + vat.
The kart now has:
GPZ305 engine
New oil & filter
New exhaust gaskets
New end cans
New custom made petrol tank
New rear tyres
New steering wheel
New braided brake hose
Electric start and kill switch
Resprayed all rims
I stripped the kart down to its bare frame and coated it with galvanised zinc under spray then topped of in bright orange.
Small amount of touch up paint and new rubber tubing to cover frame bars included.
Looks and sounds great, approx top speed 60mph maybe more.

My Home Made Go-Kart
This gop kart was made recently by my dad, my uncle, and myself. it started life as a kawasaki GPX 250 and it didn’t run when we got it. we bought the bike for $900 and the next few weekends were cleaning the carby idle and main jets and general maintenance of the motor like new spark plugs and a heap of other stuff. now she runs like new. we then took it all apart and left the motor and electrics sitting there for a couple of months while we built the frame and got all of that done and when …

What do I need for my go kart and go kart motor?
So, I just bought this go kart frame for $75. Lucky for my dad and I we found it had a clutch and rear sprocket that came with it. My dad was unfamiliar with the type of clutch though, we think its a belt clutch. Here have a look at it:

The go kart, as you can tell, has no motor. We have a honda 5hp motor that we took off of a pressure washer. Now, the shaft on the motor is a standard quarter of an inch, so according to that and the clutch, what do I need to make it run? If it is a belt drive which Im assuming it is what kind of sprocket do I have to get?
The guy we bought the kart from had trouble thinking of a brand so he finally decided on “lightning-Karts” out of atlanta. I went on the web site and couldn’t find the parts I needed so I think he was wrong. Anyone know what kind of brakes these are and where I can find new ones?

As you can see their shot. Are there any other types of brakes that will work? If not where can I find a replacement.
Here are some pictures of the kart:

As you can see its a little off balanced, thats only because the back wheel is flat.
If you know where I can get the parts for this or if you know what brand it is please let me know. Thanks
Oh and if you see anything else that it needs let me know :]
its a centrifigal clutch. The faster the motor spins it the pulley closes up and makes the belt tighter making it pull the sprocket. You need a pulley on the engine, not a sprocket.the larger the pulley the less rpm’s it will take to make the clutch engage

Building a Go Karts chassis and frame?
Stripped out parts from an old car: Engine, transmission, and drive shaft (RWD). This chassis and frame is taken out of a R/C car, but if enlarged would it work for this situation? Would this idea really work? http://img296.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bajaideayd8.jpg
(quick sketch on paint sorry)
If you scale up from an R/C car the chassis will be too bulky and heavy. For a good kart chassis you need strong tubing. Cold worked steel tubing will work but moly steel is better. I would suggest you buy a second hand chassis. It will be better and much much cheaper. Believe me I have built one from scratch, it was not easy.
