I crashed into it, because it was old, and it didn’t work anymore. And if you look at the crumple zone, you can see that it kinda crushes in. Anyways the last crash, the seat hit my leg REALLY badly! Enjoy!

Murray 6hp 2 seater Go Kart Idle

My Murray Explorer startup & idle…..finally got the kill switch cleaned, and also finally got the front tires pumped and I learned how to seal & pump them correctly. Getting 4 new tires soon, 2 front and 2 back, and using my 3 working old tires as spares. Stay tuned.

Carbide / Quantum 7150 Go Kart Mini Buggy walkaround and Virtual Ride

American Sportworks sells this through Tractor Supply as the Carbide but it is also known as a Quantum. It has the same engine as the Helix 6150 model but this comes with larger tires, headlights, speedometer and brakes on all four wheels vs just a rear disk on the helix. One thing very noticeable is the seats in these are really comfortable. Great go kart. I personally still refer the long wheelbase on the Helix. Join the discussion forums at www.buggymasters.com

Go-Kart Exploration

B-Hanny invests within a go-kart, but was this a wise decision?

Heading towards the Johnsburg Woodlands we decided to cut through a nearby field. With the sun beginning to set, time was of the essence. We had no idea what we were going to film, until something caught our undivided attention. A go-kart was left in the middle of the field, and we felt it was our responsibility to return the go-kart.

After further investigating we came to the conclusion this go-kart was abandoned, and like they say one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. We immediately found our inspiration as this go-kart would serve as the basis of our next exploration. From a distance the go-kart looked pretty decent, but once up close you could clearly point out the problems. Taking this into consideration we attempted to showcase the missing elements of the go-kart. Such as the seat and the motor which was clearly removed, but no matter how beat up the go-kart was we were determined to film.

With no motor we were resorted to pushing the go-kart and this is how we developed the story for Go-Kart Exploration. B-Hanny was exploring through the woods when all the sudden his go-kart broke down. Considering B-Hanny just purchased the go-kart on eBay it was in need for some repairs. While heading towards the nearest repair station B-Hanny stopped to grab a bite to eat and later took a quick nap. Once awake B-Hanny ventured forth and was soon chased by the worlds most dangerous creature. Narrowly escaping death B-Hanny made it to the repair station and ended his exploration.

We couldnt have finished filming at a better time as we were losing daylight dramatically. After taking a quick ride through the neighborhood we didnt see the relevance of keeping the go-kart. With that in mind we returned the go-kart where we found it, and went back to the house. What started as a shortcut through a nearby field ended as an exploration we could have never seen coming, thus Go-Kart Exploration was born.

1.6 VW Turbo Diesel Hydraulic Go Kart 2

5th Generation Go Kart:
1.6 VW engine, 5 speed manual transmission ( VW ACH ) with a 1.8T vw jetta turbo ( leaking ) 1.9 Diesel injectors, Rexroth hydraulic gear pump 23 GPM, Hydraulic relief valve, 0 – 20GPM flow control, 6 way valve as forwards / reverse, and a Sauer-Danfoss OMH-200 Hydraulic Orbital motor ( 20GPM ).

Very knobby, wide mud tires in rear, solid 1 inch axle, Trailer class wheels for front.

Current weight: around 500lbs

1st Generation Go kart:
8HP Briggs gas with Canadian Tire Garden cart frame, 1 Can of octane booster per 1.5L tank of fuel, Motor still runs, Snowblower Traction drive unit,

2nd Generation Go kart:
2 Garden cart frames, side by side, 11 HP princess auto gas engine, Ford Taurus 5 Speed Manual Transmission,

3rd Generation Go Kart:
Snowblower traction drive unit from 1st machine, upgraded to the 5 speed trans from the 2nd machine a few weeks later, melted the traction drive wheel while going through the forest,

Custom frame, and steering, 6hp Princess Auto diesel engine, powered by used canola oil, ran a few times on a mix of Kerosene, Canola Oil, Engine oil, a little ATF fluid, and Cetane booset with Anti-gel agents for winter.

4th Generation Go Kart:
3rd machine upgraded with a 10HP electric start, 418cc Diesel engine (ebay), glow plug, homemade injector line heater, magnetic fuel tank heater. Later added a vw turbocharger, lasted 2 months before the turbo went kaput.

5th Generation Go kart:
Frame, steering, seat, from 4th gen, frame in front of seat was extended 12 inches. And all the fancy features you see now.
