Racing Go Karts

Make sure you check out the wreck that starts at about 1:40.
This was my second time ever driving a go kart. I decided to make a homemade helmet strap. I recorded three races altogether, this was the second. I used an Xacti E2 AVC/H.264 video camera. It worked great except one corner where it was not lit very well. If you live by Olathe Kansas I suggest checking out Sadler’s Racing. It’s great fun and the Go karts are very quick for a family karting center. Avg speeds around 35mph.

This is really my first video, or maybe a slide show due to the loss of a video cable. Anyway, this is one of my favorite toys A Briggs & Stratton 5 Horse Power engine that runs on a fuel called methanol. It is about one inch from touching the ground and yes, I will have a “real video” of me driving it. It’s as loud as sin! IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN BUYING THIS KART (PLEASE NO LO-BALLERS!) CONTACT ME AT jdorothy@rwu.edu for more info ALSO I HAVE A COVER THAT FITS IT AND I’LL THROW IT IN FOR ANYONE INTERESTED!

To our avid viewers, please bear with us on the beginning of this video. The sound is not great on the first interview, but it is so worth watching. We know now how to prevent this from happening again, but were not able to fix the original. Knowing that taping it over would not be the same, we have just left the sound the way it is and hope you enjoy the show. We promise the sound does improve after the interview with Spencer. Thank you for all of the positive and encouraging comments. This has been a fun project! Keep your eyes out for our next videos to come as the season is coming to a close.
