How to Make a Go Kart
Wanna make your self a go kart using some junk in the garage? Well first find your self a go kart frame,(we used a little kids’ pedal kart). Then take the axle/ gearbox and engine off of a front wheel drive push lawn mower and bolt them on your frame. If you have any questions about this, i’d be happy to answer them.

I had the same …
I had the same problem, so what I ended up doing is making two little plates with slots in them and welding them to the back of the frame to mount the engine on. That way it acts like a tensioner for the belt and is easy to replace the belt too. Just an idea for ya. Hopefully I get a digital camera from Santa this year, like I asked! Then I can show you mine. Its got a 6 horse Tecumseh on it and it goes pretty good. Looking forward to your finished product!

Did you ever get that thing put together? I have the exact same materials. Kettcar pedal kart, lots of vert. shaft engines, and also self propelled mowers. Let me know? I’d like to do it too, if you got er working right. Lets see the finished product with that 6.5 briggs engine!
