Karting part1 Rnd 8 (’07) TKM Motors TV UK Karting Challenge

Can Lyell win this – from the very last place on the grid?

Watch the TKM Extreme class in round 8 of this national karting series. This round was held on 26th August 2007 at Lydd International Raceway, on the south coast of England (nearly in France!). This is a unique series where the championship leaders all start at the back, in reverse order – so there’s always lots of overtaking. It’s held over 10 rounds so the championship is beginning to shape up. Watch young Scottish Driver Martyn Lyell, using is Clan prepared engines on a JKH chassis come from the very last spot on the grid in great style.

nice go kart wreck during race at Sadlers Indoor Racing in Olathe Kansas

Make sure you check out the wreck that starts at about 1:40.

This was my second time ever driving a go kart. I decided to make a homemade helmet strap. I recorded three races altogether, this was the second. I used an Xacti E2 AVC/H.264 video camera. It worked great except one corner where it was not lit very well. If you live by Olathe Kansas I suggest checking out Sadler’s Racing. It’s great fun and the Go karts are very quick for a family karting center. Avg speeds around 35mph.

Karts Our fleet of BIZ karts run with 200cc Honda engines, geared to 35 mph! Manufactured with safety in mind, the karts have a tubular steel chassis for safety and rigidity and feature energy absorbing all round side pods for extra safety. They are lightweight with highly responsive steering, resulting in more positive control and improved balance. Just what you need to stay ahead!

Timing System All the karts are fitted with transponders so lap time improvements can be seen immediately and you can have a full breakdown of times and results to take home. What’s more, the circuit is going through a period of change and improvement to challenge the most experienced karter and provide bundles of laughs for the novice. There’s loads of space for sliding the karts around in damp conditions and for overtaking!

Facilities All safety equipment is provided including helmets, gloves, overalls and rib protectors. The circuit is fully marshalled at all times. Our heated viewing gallery provides warmth and comfort for spectators. Hot and cold drinks are available all day. There’s ample parking adjacent to the circuit.
