Welded up most of the frame today and got my clutch, sprocket holder, sprocket and chain from the kart shop. I have to get a seat before i mount the other three bars as two bars are for the seat and i cant weld them when i dont no the size of the mounts on the seat. When i get that and mount it i can weld in the other bar for the foot rest to what feels comfortable. Then i have to make up the spindles and weld them on. Once ive done that then i can get the diameter of the kart and then i can make the back axle. Once ive done that i can fit on the sprocket and holder and can drill the motor mounts and hook up the chain. Then i have to make up a little brake disc on the lathe at the same time i get the axle done and then mount 2 bicycle brakes on the disc. It will brake pretty good. On my motorized bike i got one set of brakes and that stops me pretty quick from 50km/h. Given the weight of the kart i will use two for double the grip. Then i have to make a steering wheel, make a shaft for it and make some steering arms. After that i can make some pedals and mount them and hook up the brakes and throttle.
Once ive done all this it ready to go! I reckon it will take me about 2 weeks to complete or just under. I think the completion date will be about January 13th. Stay tuned for more updates! There wont be another update for another week or so as i have to build this at my dads factory and he is on holidays atm and only comes to the factory like once a week to do stuff. He said he will be there next week so i should get a lot done next week.

Wanna make your self a go kart using some junk in the garage? Well first find your self a go kart frame,(we used a little kids’ pedal kart). Then take the axle/ gearbox and engine off of a front wheel drive push lawn mower and bolt them on your frame. If you have any questions about this, i’d be happy to answer them.

got some new tires so wat the heck, minus well use em!
the kart im usin is a 20005 MANCO go kart frame, with a 5hp Briggs and stratton motor on the left side. it goes approx. 30-35 MPH. i only use high quality gasoline with high octane ratings, AKA expensive gas, so doin this stuff aint cheap………..

http://e85carbs.com/ 702 hp blown 383 on E85
i converted a 5 hp briggs and stratton engine to run on E85. E85 is 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline. its octane rating is 105 conmared to that of unleaded galoline at 87. E85 also cools the incomming air down about 20 degrees which makes the air denser. this makes more horse power. the increased octane rating allows for advanced ignition timing and a high compression ratio of 12:1. that makes more horse power. to convert the carburetor to E85, you must first have the right kind of carb. the older style carbs that have the carb mounted to the gas tank are the kind that are easy ot convert. to drill out the holes, use hobby drill bits because they are extreamly small. if any of you have any questions or comments, fell free to post them.

Go kart was worth $1500 retail. A few years ago, I saw somebody selling just the metal frame for $400 itself. We got the whole kart (fibreglass body, frame, tires, engine, seat, ect) for $350.
Modified Harbor Freight 6.5HP Clone producing at least 20HP.
