Would a 5hp briggs&stratton engine be a good off road go kart engine?

I was just wondering it a 5hp briggs&stratton go kart engine would work on an off road go kart. would it work well off road?

It would most likely be an okay kart in the end with about a 15mph top speed I think… but most new karts for off road are using 6.5 – 18 horse motors and a 6.5 would be a perfect starter engine.
